So, I know she talked to some of you about this already. But I thought I'd make sure everybody knew, so nobody worries-- I--

Needy graduated. She didn't go home, yet, probably because her home's total bullshit [and he's pretty sure she's still wanted there??]. Sunny, haunted Beacon Hills, California was the destination of choice, for those of you who really need to know.

Anybody who wanted to say goodbye and didn't get a chance to, um, I can probably get a message to her. And by "I can get a message to her" I mean "I can have Iris get a message to her".

The Barge is a different kind of place. You get used to it and then nothing's ever the same again.

[He says with that glimmer of hope that maybe someone will know what the hell he's talking about.]

I don't wanna hide out here forever. [Which is just the truth, not some commentary on what Cassel's doing here. Who knows what this guy's been dealing with that this place is better?]

Wait, you want to go back to war?

[As a career coward, Cassel does not get this at all.]

War's still goin' on. I can't just go home.

That sucks, man.

[And some part of him knows that's a completely, painfully inept statement totally incapable of expressing how Cassel feels about it; that there's no way Cassel could ever feel the same way about it that he does. But it's all he's got to give.]

[He can guess the intended meaning easily enough, but that is a piece of slang otherwise unfamiliar to him, and he sounds a lot more curious than potentially offended.

It chafes at him more when people act like they have no idea what he's talking about.]
