Whoever brings me ibuprofen and weed first gets to be my best friend for the next week.
What'd I miss? Needy, where the fuck are you? Where's my cat?

Was there a flood? I heard there was a flood. Did it get you?

[The first thing Cassel does - after a really solid lunch and a long shower - is get down to the gym. He doesn't know what's happened to Mindy, but it seems like he's on his own here for a little while. So he meanders through the gym equipment, cleaning, re-organizing, and very obviously brooding.]

[She's a little shook up by the last flood but she's grinning automatically to see him, happy all the same. Though she didn't mean to say that last part, the 'after all'. She wasn't even thinking it. It just slipped.]

"After all"? [Explain. He has the sinking feeling he knows what she meant already, but he wants to hear it from her.]

He's here to save lives. And really, all the working out does help him sleep better at night (though that might also be because Lydia's been staying with him most nights). So it's worth it. He glances up when he catches movement from the corner of his eye, tensing involuntarily. He half expects to see Jerry there, but he relaxes when he sees it's Cassel instead. Apparently his coma is over with. He sets down the weights he's using and lifts a hand in a wave.]
Hey, man.

Hey. I see you didn't die gruesomely while I was asleep. That's cool.

an actual metric fucktonsome stuff that could have landed her in prison, but ever since the USA turned into Zombieland? she figured she was home free. well, minus the running and hiding from zombies thing - home free.but anyway, so she's just wandering around because she can, because there's nothing better to do. learning the layout of the ship, where she can and can't go. remembering faces and trying to forget names. and she's getting used to being around this many healthy, talkative people. it's' a process.
when she gets to the gym, she's got her hands stuffed in the pockets of her leather jacket, the heels of her boots scuffing along the floor. she wanders in without peeking to see what's going on first, figuring it's her own damn fault if she walks into a room that smells like a high school lockerroom.
luckily, the place is pretty empty compared to some of the other rooms. but not completely empty. someone's cleaning. or something. who knows. ]
Hey.
[ it's sort of passive, the sort of hey you give a store clerk when you're "just looking" and no, really, you don't need any help ( because you intend on purchasing one little thing and pocketing everything else ). but it's probably obvious she's not here to pump some iron, considering the whole.. jeans and boots and jacket thing. but that's awkward, only saying "hey" when you plan on sticking around for a bit, so- ]
This joint is really jumpin', huh? I'm surprised they got you in here all by yourself. Who knows what might go down.

[He's not on the ball right now, still a little woozy and bone-weary. Someone could jump him physically right now if they wanted; that wouldn't be hard. But speech patterns and body language are second nature to him - just like paranoia.]
[He gives her a broad smile, the hundred-watt one that used to make girls fall at his feet when that was something he was after, and leans on the nearest treadmill.]
You know you can kill a man with a five-pound weight, right? It's all in the swing.
You're new.

He tried the CES first, but it was raining. It was also very similar to Regents Park, and he turned around almost before the first drops hit him.
When he spots Cassel, though, he slows his run to a jog, to a trot, until he's walking and can walk right off the machine. He takes his time grabbing a towel, tugging it across his face and over his head before throwing it over his shoulder.]

No one got you weed.
[Is it weird to hear a former Batgirl talking about pot? Who knows, she just finds it interesting that everyone else has ignored that so far. Plus, focusing on something small and stupid lets her pretend that him being in a coma wasn't so mind-numbingly terrifying.]
